SHORT POST.

Not much to write about today. Have a lot to take care of with tonight's viewing party for the LAKE PLACID IRONMAN, followed by our weekly version of PUB TRIVIA (tonight's theme, by the way is "THE 90's").

It's also the end of September, which means we have to come up with a few things for October. For example:

* We're bringing in some new brews. Replacing summer favorites BLUE POINT BLUEBERRY ALE and HARPOON RASPBERRY HEFFENWIZEN, will be ALLAGASH WHITE (see right) and HARVEST MOON PUMPKIN ALE. We will also be gearing towards some stouts and darker lagers as the seasons change. Look out for some unique offerings in the rear future.

* MLB Playoffs begin next week and we in the NYC area finally have something to look forward to: a possible Yankees/Red Sox showdown. The city always comes alive when these two teams face off in the playoffs. As of right now, however, both teams will need to get past their first round opponents (Boston/Anaheim and Yankees/ Detroit-Minn winner).

*The NHL drops officially drops the puck on Thursday on a new season as the rocky road to Lord Stanley's Cup begin again. Already we're getting phone calls for games to be aired which is a good sign. The last couple of years, Molson had been our primary sponsor for the NHL Center Ice promotion; This year there's a possibility that Labatt's Blue will be the official hockey draft beer of Third and Long. Stay tuned for more details on that and expect more promos throughout the season, featuring giveaways, special guests, etc. Should be a good time.

*Yours truly will be taking his now-annual birthday trek to Canada to catch the Montreal Canadiens and the NY Rangers in action. Looking forward to it.

*October means HALLOWEEN and since it falls on a Saturday, expect all kinds of funky hijinks for that night. That weekend in general is a big one for us as the following day is NY MARATHON Sunday, which is always a good time at the bar. We get to cheer on the runners and turn the night into a pants-off-dance-off affair.

That's just a few things off the top of my head. As we roll into the month, I'll keep everyone abreast of what's happening at the bar.

Ok, I'm stopping for now or else this won't be a short post anymore. Don't forget about the Viewing party and Pub Trivia tonight. Should be a good time.

Oh and by the way, the visiting Spaniards made a return visit to the bar for dollar drafts again. I got a feeling we'll be seeing a lot of them. I hope they don't flunk out of school.

Nuff Said
