BASEBALL CONFUSION...

The MLB Playoffs are here in full swing and the locals (NY Yankees) got off to a rousing start, winning their first game handily over the exhausted Minnesota Twins, 7-2. What was surprising, however, was the sparse crowd in attendance at the bars on 3rd Avenue to watch the game. Surely not everyone was at the game. I think part of the problem is the last minute listing of the game times for the first round of the playoffs. For example, many of us didn't know when/what time the Yankee/Twins game would be until Tuesday; Just found out that the Boston/Anaheim game is being played at 9:30pm tonight (as opposed to the 6pm original start).

Kinda hard to plan around these uncertain start times, you know what I mean?

SO......

Here are the "announced game times" for Thursday's MLB Playoffs:

Phila vs Colo. (2:30p)

L.A. Dodgers vs St. Louis (6pm)

Boston vs Anaheim (9:30p).

And for those of you who don't give a rat's ass about the MLB playoffs, we still have "Thirsty Thursdays" (5-11pm), featuring $4 Coors Light/Sam Adams/Brooklyn Pennant Ale pints AND $20 Miller Lite/Coors Light buckets (5)! There's also plenty of hockey on tap as well as the NY Rangers face off against Washington, among other games. So there's plenty of games to go around.

The weather is rapidly turning into full-blown jacket weather and that makes me sad. Winter will be here sooner than you know and I detest the winter season. My advice? Enjoy what little decent weather we have yet because I have a feeling we're going to get hit hard this winter season. We're overdue.

That's all I got for now. Look out for details of a theme party that I'm planning for my big b-day at the end of the month!

Let's go Caps! Won't be quite the same this season not watching in your bar, but I'm going tonight so I can't really complain!
