SHORT POST TODAY...

Sorry for the late post today. I went to sleep later than I'd planned because I was kept awake by the Spaniards again as they have officially made Third and Long their Monday Night Fiesta Night. From the loud chants and salsa dancing over the blaring jukebox to the laughing and singing (or should I say serenading) outside of my window, I didn't fall asleep until about 5am. Usually on my night off I'm in bed much earlier than that. So now my whole week is off as I try to use my Mondays to catch up on sleep for the week. Grrrrr... Oh well, that's part of the ball game I guess.

Got errands to run. Don't forget: MLB play-in game at 5pm (Detroit vs Minnesota).

Dollar Draft Madness tonight ($1 Bud/Bud Light mugs)! NO TRIVIA TOMORROW NIGHT (Yankees playoff game)!

BREW CREW SUNDAY, WEEK 4

Yesterday I found myself swept up in utter chaos as the Sunday Brew Crew stepped up their game big time. From the minute we opened, the regulars began rolling in. With the weather being practically perfect, it seemed to put everyone in the mood for good times. And believe me, good times were had, just like the old days.

We even had some long-lost members emerge from the darkness: THE MAYOR OF MURRAY HILL, BEN AFFLECK, AMERICAN PSYCHO and STIFFLER, just to name a few. From the onset, everyone got into the 1pm games and of course, T-BILL got the gang into a tizzy with his games of chance. Within minutes, everyone was fighting to get involved in his games and soon after, there was the simultaneous celebration and agony of defeat when the first quarter ended. THE CORNER BOYS had reason to celebrate as they finally hit on what they like to call "The Bernie Madoff Pool", after weeks of trying. Pretty funny stuff.

We are finding ourselves getting more and more new faces in on Sunday and this week was no exception. As a matter of fact, SEXY STEELER FAN and I found ourselves swamped almost immediately and we were slingin' drinks non-stop throughout the afternoon, from opening kickoff, through the second games and the invasion of the DOLFANS FAN CLUB; pretty much up until the end of the 4pm games. It was crazy but fun at the same time. Same old hi-jinks, some good some, well, let's just say that some folks still just don't get it.

Speaking of the DOLFANS FAN CLUB, while it's been a good time hosting them as their "official home base" here in NYC, I've noticed that as the numbers grow, some of the newer members aren't the nicest guests I've dealt with. I don't know if it's the passion for the team that cause them to act the way they do but whatever it is, they need to check it at the door. Now mind you, the vast majority have been nothing but great, but as with all big groups, there's always a few bad apples. I'm just sayin'.... don't let the few bad apples mess things up for everyone else. Nuff said on that.

In any case, everyone seemed to have a good time and I'm sure I can speak for SEXY STEELER FAN, it definitely felt good getting off of our feet afterwards.

As always, you can check out the rest of the photos on our FACEBOOK page!

But before I turn away from the topic, here's indeed the "PIC OF THE DAY":

"What do you think he's looking at?"

Next week's version of BREW CREW SUNDAY is sure to be a kick-ass affair as it's Columbus Day Weekend; It's also BABY GIRL's Sunday Funday Birthday Party, and you know what that means! One hell of a shit show and you know we love that! Add to that the New York Yankees in the playoffs and it's sure to be a great day!

MONDAY NIGHT: Monday Night Football is the main event of the evening with the Minnesota Vikings facing off against the Green Bay Packers. $1 Bud/Bud Light/Coors Light mugs all night long!

Pair that with $2 mugs (all beers on tap) and some college football and you have the makings of a pretty good Saturday afternoon!

GOOD START TO THE WEEKEND!

Last night the bar had an interesting mix of people; Between a fundraiser for Juvenile Diabetes and the NHL Opening Night viewing party, the bar had an eclectic vibe to it. The combination of the two events saved the evening as the unexpected frosty weather seemed to have chased a lot of folks home. Thanks and congrats to Sarah Spadafora on a job well done in raising over $400.00 for her charity. Also want to thank the many hardcore hockey fans for turning out for the NHL Viewing Party; They were treated to some pretty good games. Looking forward to a long and entertaining season!

THIS JUST IN
: Rio De Janairo, Brazil was just awarded the 2016 Summer Olympics. Chicago, Illinois, one of the favorites got knocked out in the first round of voting, followed by Tokyo, Japan and then Madrid, Spain. While I can think of worse places to have the Olympics, you can't hate on the eye candy that will be there, that's for sure.

I received an interesting text from one of our former bartenders, BLONDE CHATTERBOX. She's currently enjoying life in San Diego these days and shared a story with me about a recent incident where she met MANNY RAMIREZ (yes, the same "Manny being Manny") at a gym. He approached her (well, his "assistant did") and at first she didn't know who he was (typical); they ended up hitting it off and she and her friends ended up enjoying a night on the town with the burly L.A. Dodger slugger and some of his teammates. Something like this could only happen to BLONDE CHATTERBOX. I have the pics to prove it but I don't want to have TMZ banging down my door and causing marital conflict!

NY RANGERS vs PITTSBURGH highlights tonight's sports action as they kick off their NHL season on the road. Join us for $4 domestic drafts/mixed well drinks (5-9pm) and cheer on the Blue Shirts!!

SATURDAY: "Kick the Keg Saturdays" featuring $2 mugs, most beers on tap (12-8pm)! Sam Adams will host a College Football Promo at 3:30pm, during which they will raffle off a TERRELLE PRYOR Ohio State Jersey! Pretty sweet! You can then catch Ohio State/Indiana at 7pm!

SUNDAY: "Brew Crew Sundays" take center stage with $4 Bud/Bud Light pints during all NFL games! NY Giants vs Kansas City (1pm), NY Jets vs New Orleans (4:15pm) and Miami Dolphins fans can catch their team with fellow NYC DOLFANS as they play the New Orleans Saints @ 4:15pm! Of course, we feature the NFL SUNDAY TICKET which gives us access to ALL NFL GAMES! Call (212).447.5711 to see if your team made the cut this week!

That's it for now. There's mid-day NHL hockey from Finland taking place as we speak so I'm off like a prom dress! See you this weekend!

HOMECOMING OF SORTS....

Friends and family members got together to watch MATT LONG'S courageous journey during the Lake Placid Ironman in July '09. It was great to be able to share in his accomplishments and to watch the faces of those who were in awe of what he went through in getting it done. I was impressed by the number of people who turned out for the viewing party; but then again, I should have known better because he has touched so many with his courageous comeback to this point. The presentation was well done and if you haven't seen it yet, I'm sure that NBC-Universal (ch. 162 here in New York/Time Warner cable) will repeat the broadcast over the next few weeks.

The party was followed by a fun-filled night of Pub Trivia fun! The last few weeks have brought about more and more newbies, which is a good thing because I'd like to see some new blood take on the regulars who have ruled the pub trivia scene the last few months. Nothing like some good-natured competition to get the juices flowing, I always say.

To add to the festive occasion we got to witness the return of our own OPIE CUNNINGHAM, fresh from his "sabbatical" in Australia. While he enjoyed his experience "Down Under", he's pretty happy to be back on American soil and we're happy to have him back. You'll see more of him around in the near future. Welcome back buddy!

Check out the rest of the pics on our FACEBOOK page! As you can see, a good time was certainly had by all!

TONIGHT: "Thirsty Thursdays" featuring $4 Sam Adams/Coors Light pints and Miller Lite, Coors Light buckets (5/$20), 5-11pm! NHL OPENING NIGHT featuring four great matchups: WASHINGTON vs BOSTON and MONTREAL vs TORONTO (7pm) followed by VANCOUVER vs CALGARY and COLORADO vs SAN JOSE!
