AND THEN THERE WERE TWO...

Yesterday was dubbed "Championship Sunday" in the NFL, featuring two pretty good matchups with berths to the Super Bowl on the line. The first game featured the NY Jets and the Indianapolis Colts. And with our bar being located in NYC, of course we would be packed with NY Jets fans, hoping to see their team go to the Big Game for the first time since 1969.

The first half saw the Jets take it to the favored Colts, much to the delight of the fans at the bar and going into halftime with the lead, you could sense the confidence growing in the air. However, the second half was a different story altogether as the Colts came roaring back and reestablished the momentum in their favor. In the end, it proved to be too much for the Jets to overcome as the Colts pulled out a 30-17 win. Jet fans were clearly disappointed but happy with what their team accomplished this season. I think they have a lot to look forward to next season.

The Colts will face the New Orleans Saints, who pulled out a thrilling 31-28 overtime victory over the Minnesota Vikings, thus insuring a matchup between the two #1 seeds for the first time since 1993. With the Saints making their first trip to the Super Bowl, that leaves only FOUR teams who have yet to make the trip to the Big Game: Cleveland, Detroit, Jacksonville and Houston.

Overall, it was a fun day for football fans at Third and Long. We had two camera crews in attendance, plenty of good natured bantering between fans, and aside from one stupid argument/incident between two regulars that nearly came to blows, everything seem to go well. There are plenty of pics to check out on our FACEBOOK page.

In the meantime, join us tonight for MUG NIGHT MADNESS, where mugs rule the night! $1 Bud, Bud Light or Coors Light OR $2 mugs, all other domestic drafts ALL NIGHT LONG! BEER BINGO starts at 7pm and it's free to play, with plenty of prizes up for grabs. SYRACUSE vs GEORGETOWN on tap at 7pm as well as NHL Center Ice (Pittsburgh vs Rangers) for all of your NHL needs. Should be a good night.

That's It. That's All I Got.
