Follow the daily interactions of an affable bar manager of pretty cool and not-so-typical watering hole in NYC, in a not-so-typical neighborhood, Murray Hill. There may be some blurbs overheard at the bar, stimulating observations and random thoughts on random things. So be careful, you never know what might end up here....Enjoy and welcome to my world!

BACK TO NORMAL..
After last night's invasion of the Hipster Wannabes, things were somewhat back to normal with a spirited edition of Pub Trivia. Once again we found a lot of new faces in the crowd; so many new faces that once again, a lot of the regulars were shut out of their prime seating spots, much to their dismay (note: maybe it's time to get to the bar a little earlier next week). And unlike the shits that dragged their change purses to Dollar Draft Madness the night before, this group were actually appreciative of their bartenders.
We had about 80 participants (about 15 teams) involved in last night's competition, which was a pretty healthy number for a Pub Trivia night. The theme this week was "Education" and there were some pretty good questions posed to the teams by the Triviamasters, BRAD and BIG RED. When all was said and done, there was once again a tie for first place, which led to a "chug-off" to determine who would gain a spot in the finals....
The "Chug-Off" was won by our own OPIE CUNNINGHAM and as a result, his team gained a spot in the Pub Trivia Tournament of Champions final in March. Congrats on a job well done! And if you think you have what it takes to beat the "Big Dawgs", gather up your friends and join us next Wednesday for a chance to show off your knowledge of pop culture! As always, check out the rest of the pics on our FACEBOOK page!
On Another Note: It seems the city is looking to shut down seven nightclubs/bars for...... flouting the smoking ban. Yes, apparently NYC is indeed serious about folks smoking indoors. Interesting.
It looks like we're about to get hit with some brutally cold temps, beginning tonight. That won't stop us from warming things up at the bar, with $20 buckets of Miller Lite/Coors Light and $4 pints of Sam Adams/Coors Light (5-11pm)!
Stay tuned for details of our upcoming Super Bowl (oops, I mean "Big Game") bash!
Three days before the end of NO-JUICE JANUARY! WOO-HOO!
