BLIZZZZZZZZZZZZARD!!!

There you have it. Nature has finally penetrated Manhattan's bubble shield and unleashed holy hell to the tune of 16.9" inches of snow (as of this posting), with another 8-9" expected to fall by sundown. Holy crap!

For most of the winter, while the rest of the Northeast (and even other parts of NYC) have been ravaged by tons of snow, Manhattan had been pretty much spared. Freak of nature? Perhaps. Even as recently as a couple weeks ago, Staten Island got dumped with over a foot of snow while the island of Manhattan, a mere four miles away, got bupkus.

Well, when you play the law of averages, things were sure to balance out sooner or later and this time around, we got ours.... and then some. So, no school today. Many businesses are closed. Traffic is almost non-existent. A great way to start the weekend.

As for me? This day will probably consist of clearing the sidewalks with my sidekick, RAUL; checking the docket to see who will or won't make it in to work; hoping to find rock salt to get us through the weekend and dealing with an array of shit that will probably go wrong, a la Murphy's Law.

Wish me luck.

That's It. That's All I Got.
