Follow the daily interactions of an affable bar manager of pretty cool and not-so-typical watering hole in NYC, in a not-so-typical neighborhood, Murray Hill. There may be some blurbs overheard at the bar, stimulating observations and random thoughts on random things. So be careful, you never know what might end up here....Enjoy and welcome to my world!

WHO DAT!!!
The New Orleans Saints and the Indianapolis Colts gave Super Bowl viewers their money's worth as they fought tooth and nail to bring us a nail-biter of a game. The fans who were in attendance at the bar were engrossed in action taking place on TV and around the bar. Between the various exotic (and friendly) wagers being placed, debates over botched plays and referee calls and genuine camaraderie among the patrons and staff, it was generally a good night.
There were a lot of tourists in attendance and for awhile, I felt like we were serving members of the United Nations. Folks from Japan, Norway, Germany and one particularly boisterous group from Australia who hung out from about 1pm until well past the end of the game. While the bar overall wasn't as hectic as in years past, it was still a good time and most folks (especially Saints fans) went home happy.
Now that football season is finally over, it's time to get through February and prepare for the mad dash of March. I'm usually melancholy after the ending of a football season, especially this particular one. We found ourselves bringing in new faces to the bar and I've witnessed the development of a new generation of Brew Crew fans. While it's always sad to see the end of the football season, there still is a lot of sports to look forward to.
Next up: The Vancouver Winter Olympics this Friday and Six Nations Rugby on Saturday. In the near future, we'll find ourselves gearing up for March Madness and the opening of the baseball season; At the same time, we'll still have plenty of NHL and NBA going on. There's also plenty of soccer on tap in the near future, with Champions League play and the 2010 World Cup this summer. So you see, while America's real pastime is done for the year, there's plenty of reason to hang with us.
TONIGHT: Catch the finals of the BEANPOT Tournament featuring Boston College and Boston University at 8pm. We're also hosting a night of Beer Bingo, featuring free prizes for winners; Free to play! $1 Bud/Bud Light/Coors Light mugs ALL NIGHT LONG!
In the meantime, check out the rest of the pics from the day on our FACEBOOK page.
That's It. That's All I Got.
