NICE START TO THE WEEKEND...
The holiday weekend kicked off better than I imagined and it gives me hope that this weekend will be more active than one would normally expect for a long weekend.
When I arrived for the beginning of the shift, the place was abuzz with lots of after-work types, ties loosened and collars unbuttoned, ready to let their hair down. The early happy hour hit carried over to the beginning of the Boston/Orlando playoff game and the pace of the night remained steady up until about 1am when things finally began to die down. Granted it's Friday night and you hate to see things slow down at that hour, but hey, on a holiday weekend, you'll take what you can get.
As I write this, there's a strange looking blonde in a NY Yankees T-shirt and jeans, trying unsuccessfully to get into the bar. She's clearly hammered and rightfully turned away for being drunk, but that didn't deter her efforts. She's now standing around the corner, trying to hide from my doorman, oblivious of the fact that we can see her from the windows inside the bar. Every time he looks around the corner at her direction, she tries to duck behind an imaginary pole, as if she's really concealing herself from him. To say that this whole scenario is hilarious is an understatement. I only wish I'd brought my camera with me.
Tomorrow we're showing the UFC 114 PPV event, featuring Quinton "RAMPAGE" Jackson and Rashad Evans. We've been getting phone inquires for this event, so I anticipate a good turnout for the event. In the meantime, I look forward to installing the AC unit sometime in the afternoon. That itself should be a shitshow.
That's it. That's all I got.
