HERE WE GO AGAIN....
The United Nations General Assembly is gathering this week and for anyone who lives or commutes on the east side of Manhattan, you know how much of a nightmare this can be. With all of the world dignitaries gathering in town this week, including President Obama and the President of Iran, expect plenty of protests, traffic jams and general chaos for the next week. This is one of the few times of the year that I hate being a New Yorker. Plan accordingly folks!
The past weekend brought us more gridiron excitement as the bar experienced fun crowds on both Saturday and Sunday.
Saturday afternoon kicked off with a Baylor University Alumni Viewing party, as the Baylor Bears faced off against #4 TCU. There was enthusiasm in the air as the upstart Bears were about to face their first real test after coming off a big win last week against the University of Buffalo.
Unfortunately for the Bears, they ran into a buzzsaw that was TCU and the Alumni went home disappointed. Back to the drawing board for the Baylor Bears.
The rest of the night saw more that a few fantastic finishes in college games, much to the delight of college football fans at the bar, including a couple of thrilling overtime games.
Sunday brought us the next edition of BREW CREW SUNDAYS, 2.0 and as expected, the place was packed with Miami Dolphins fans as well as the infamous Sunday Brew Crew holding court on their respective sides of the bar.
The DOLFANS NYC club had reason to be happy on this day as they saw their team move to 2-0 after a hard fought victory over the Minnesota Vikings.
Of course, while the DOLFANS were locked into their game, the SUNDAY BREW CREW were busy doing what they do best: "chillaxing"...
And with the Jets big win over New England, that left both sides of the bar feeling very happy when all was said and done. The only major disappointment of the day was the drubbing that the NY Giants got from the Indianapolis Colts in the late game Sunday night. Overall, I have to say it was another fun edition of Brew Crew Sundays. Next week the bar should see some sense of normalcy as the Dolphins face off against the Jets on Sunday night, which frees up more games for everyone in the afternoon. Smiles all around from the Sunday Brew Crew on that bit of news, I'm sure!
