BACK TO NORMAL...

So we survived.  After four days of excessive activity by way of boozing, basketball and general debauchery, I am happy that we've finally come to some sense of normalcy.  While it was a great weekend for the bar, it was draining for everyone working the weekend.  But again, we survived and now we look forward to the Sweet Sixteen matchups this Thursday night.  Kudos to the Third and Long staff for a job well done bringing the fun to the patrons over the course of the weekend!   And thanks again to the UFC's Brandon Vera and UFC president Dana White for their brief (and surprising) fly-by over the weekend.

In the meantime, we did say goodbye to Winter, right?  Well, you wouldn't have thought so if you woke up to giant snowflakes like I did this yesterday morning.  WTF?  I guess Mama Nature was trying to get one last dig in before putting away her toys for the season.  And from what I hear, it's not over yet.  Apparently we should prepare for another messy day of rain/snow/sleet this Wednesday.  Ugh.

I think I am FINALLY going to make my long-overdue trek up north in April.  The weather should be nice then and god-willing, the Habs will be in playoff mode, which should be fun to take in.  I really, REALLY want to catch the Habs for a playoff game at the Bell Centre.  (Can we say "Bucket List"?)

Now that we're moving into Spring, you can also expect to see some new beers in the rotation.  Gone from the current rotation is Troeg's Nugget Nectar, Lagunitas Brown Shugga, Sam Adams Lager, Blue Moon Belgian White and in comes Shock Top Belgian White, Lagunitas IPA (a welcome return), Goose Island Honkers Ale, and Sixpoint Sweet Action, just to name a few.  As we roll into the warmer days, look out for more new beers to roll into the rotation.

BASEBALL SEASON is just over a week away!  Wow.  We're pretty excited about that as we have a new sponsor on board for the MLB season: HOMETOWN NY LAGER.  We will once again carry the MLB package and HOMETOWN NY LAGER will sponsor promos and giveaways throughout the season!  Best of all: Anytime there's a MLB game on TV, you can score a pint of HOMETOWN NY LAGER for four bucks!  Can anyone say "Batter up"?

Oh, and in case anyone is counting, it's three weeks before the run to Lord Stanley's Cup begins!  Will the NY Rangers & NJ Devils make it in?  Stay tuned....

That's it for now.  I'll post more later- now I gotta beat this head cold!

Cheers!
