IT'S SO HOT....

Fill in the blank.  It's too hot to even come up with anything funny at this point.  Damn you Mother Nature! 

The biggest thing I worry about whenever we hit a heatwave like this one is the threat of a brown (or black)out.  Everyone is cranking their fans and AC units to stay comfortable and all of the pressures of keeping the city cool often leads to power outages.  And anyone who's suffered through one of those here in NYC know how brutal that can be. So I always keep one eye on the news and the other eye on our AC unit, with fingers crossed.  And with Dollar Draft Madness on tap for tonight, it could make for an interesting night....

THE ART OF PLANKING.  During last night's MLB Home Run Derby, a couple of people were having a conversation about "planking".  Now I'd heard the term used and never really thought about it until I looked it up. In a nutshell, you're laying across something straight like a plank of wood.  While that in itself isn't all that difficult to do, I guess the key is to find creative ways/places to perform the act.

 So I'm thinking to myself, "What's the big deal?  I can do that!".  So I posted a blub on my FB page announcing my intentions to "plank", which was met with the expected catcalls  So just as I am ready to jump aboard the "planking" phenomenon, out comes something new: Owling!  WTF?

So what it comes down to is that I simply can't keep up with the Joneses.  Planking, Owling, Plooking, what the hell!  Wonder what the next phenomenon will be?
