THREE MORE WEEKS...

Until the official kick-off of the NFL season! September 8th figures to be a big night in Murray Hill as the NEW ORLEANS SAINTS travel to Lambeau Field to face the World Champion Green Bay Packers.  I'm eagerly looking forward to that game as it should be a barn-burner and a great way to kick off what should be an emotional weekend on a number of levels.

On the one hand, there will be tons of excitement as the NFL kicks off its season.  On the other hand, there will be a tinge of somber feelings as the nation observes the 10th Anniversary of 9/11 on that same weekend.  As a matter of fact, Week 1 games are on 9/11, and the decision to have the games played on that date brings about its own controversy.  Should the games be played on this special day or should they have been rescheduled out of respect for the significance of the 10th anniversary.?  The NFL took the bold stance to have the games played on that date and whether you agree with their decision or not, it is what it is.  I'm sure there will be some sort of recognition of the date by the League on the field before each game, as they are pretty good about stuff like that.  I only hope that whatever they do, that it's tasteful and reflect the importance of the day.

In the meantime, there's more pre-season football on tap tonight with the Eagles vs Steelers (8pm).  Can't wait for that!

TONIGHT: "Young Professionals Happy Hour" (5pm-10pm), with $4 domestic drafts & well drinks, perfect aid for your "networking efforts"!
