FLASH SURVEY: Miller Chill

On Friday afternoon, I found myself having to bartend on short notice, which wasn't a big deal. While I was setting up the bar, my Miller Lite rep stopped by. After the usual business chit-chat, he pulled out a bottle of MILLER CHILL, a new product from Miller Brewing, designed to capture the niche beer market.

Now I'm always skeptical of these types of beers; they are usually flash-in-the-pan and not very good. So when my rep gave me the bottle to try out, I rolled my eyes and put it on ice.

A couple of hours later, I had a few customers at the bar. I glanced at the bottle of MILLER CHILL on ice and decided to conduct my own unscientific taste test. I poured out small samples for the motley crew who were pretty much at my mercy and asked each of them to taste it and give me a one-word description of what they tasted. Here are the results:

STIFFLER: "Girly"

MR. CHIPS: " Scurvy"

MR. LOW-KEY: "Eh?"

MR. "X" (from London England): "Easy"

YOURS TRULY: "Ack!"

So, there you have it. Based on what I could gather from the sampling above, MILLER CHILL won't be making it on our menu anytime soon. Back to the drawing board, Miller Brewing.
