JOB WELL DONE!

The FORD IRONMAN LAKE PLACID took place yesterday in Lake Placid, NY, home of the 1980 Winter Olympics. This event is second-oldest Ironman Triathlon in North America (behind the Suburu Ironman Canada) and attracts the best of the best in its competition. That being said, this was a huge step in the comeback process for our dear friend, MATT LONG. After completing the NYC Marathon back in November, to him, this was the next step in his comeback from his tragic accident 4 1/2 years ago. To complete a Triathlon. And not just any triathlon, but the IRONMAN in Lake Placid.

To get the gist of what he was up against, here are the particulars of the Lake Placid Ironman:

2.4 mile swim

112 mile bike ride

Followed by a 26.2 FULL MARATHON!

Participants had up to 17 hours to complete this race and I am proud to say that our friend MATT completed the full race (a feat within itself) in 16h/58m/6s, just under the deadline! I'm in awe of what this guy can do and want to say that I'm proud of him and what he's been able to accomplish. Simply unbelievable!

WELL DONE MATT!
