FLIP THIS BAR...
If anyone knows anything about me, one of my favorite reality TV shows is "Flip This House". It's a show that highlights the beginning-to-end DIY project involving the purchase, renovation and sale (or "flip") of a previously owned property. I've always been fascinated by what someone could recreate from something that already existed. The imagination and creativity that comes with pulling off such a feat. The whole process, from "demo" (tear down of the existing property) to build up to completion, intrigued me.
So when it came time to start our own little project (renovation of the bar), you can imagine the excitement I had. Little did I realize that what I saw on TV doesn't always equate to real life. First thing I realized that "Demo" work is friggin' hard work! I'm not in the best of shape in my best of days, so to try and break stuff down and lug bags of crap from point A to point B..... WTF!!!???? I tip my cap to anyone in the construction business. That is some real grunt work.
Now that I am sore all over and sweaty to boot, I look forward to the next few days of the project. There are a lot of things to do in a relatively small window of time, so the pressure to get things done right and done on time will be great. I'm eager to see if we're up to the task.
Will keep you posted throughout the process.
In the meantime, I am FINALLY taking a much-needed break next week. Yes boys and girls, I've finally booked my trip to Canada. Scheduled to fly out on Sunday, Aug. 17, I will land in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Drive up to Quebec City for two glorious days of R & R. Drive back down to Montreal for another two days of bliss, then return to reality on August 22. Hopefully this will be the trip I sorely needed to recharge the batteries and get back into the swing of things here. Really looking forward to it.
That's six days away, and there's a lot to be done between now and then. On that note......
And before I go, thanks to all of you who purchased an item from my Swandad store! Hope you're happy with your stuff!
