"I HAVE A BIG DAY TOMORROW"

That was the mantra chanted by one of the CORNER BOYS after he finally had his first experience with the famous elixir we lovingly call "THE GENTLEMEN".

We've talked about "GENTLEMAN'S" many times on this blog and the love that we have for it. Just in case you find yourself out of the loop, a "GENTLEMAN" is basically a Maker's Mark gimlet (Maker's Mark on the rocks, with a splash of Rose's Lime Juice). Some of the members of the BREW CREW came up with the drink a few years back, as a way to toast something, anything, with something classy, yet potent. And without fail, someone will order up a round or two of "GENTLEMAN'S" for the crew and it is usually at that point where the shitstorm of debauchery begins.

AFRIKA BAMBATTA ordered up a round of "GENTLEMAN'S" and one of the CORNER BOYS got a chance to experience it for the first time. And to say he got hooked on it would be the equivalent of a crackhead getting his first taste of the pipe. One "GENTLEMAN'S" led to another, which led to another. Next thing you know, our dear "GENTLEMAN'S" newbie was ordering one after another. The funny part of this whole episode was the fact that before ordering a round of "GENTLEMAN'S", he would blurt out:

"I HAVE A BIG DAY TOMORROW"

Then he'd look around to make sure no one was looking before ordering yet ANOTHER "GENTLEMAN'S". By the end of the day, I seriously don't think our friend could feel his own face. But he did manage to tell each and everyone in the room that he loved them. I shit you not. Everyone in the bar got love from our dear friend.

Since we're keeping this in the family, there was a recent article in GLAMOUR magazine (bear with me here folks) that featured yet another member of the CORNER BOYS. This time it featured one of the CANDEE twins making out with his beautiful wife. Mushy stuff to say the least, but the fact that this girlie magazine has a BREW CREW member, doing cheezy lovey-dovey crap was certainly worth the look.

We got our new stools in last week and of course, this became a humorous "bone of contention" for those regulars who were used to using chairs with backs on them. These guys are truly creatures of habit.

As far as the day goes, you couldn't ask for anything better: great weather, laid back vibe, great games (with great finishes)... no complaints at all!

MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL features the NY GIANTS vs "America's Team", the CLEVELAND BROWNS! Game begins at 8pm! PHILADELPHA vs L.A. DODGERS play at 8pm, and the NY RANGERS face the NJ DEVILS... A full slate of action all night long!
