Saturday night in Murray Hill was unusually quiet for a Thanksgiving Weekend.... unless you include the chaotic shooting on 2nd Avenue and 34th Street! Still gathering the details and I'm sure you'll probably hear about it as well, but in a nutshell, there's a church/synagogue on the corner of East 34th/2nd Avenue that often rents out their facility for private parties, meetings, etc.
Apparently an event took place there last night that attracted some savory characters; something popped off and next thing you know, at around 3am, the place is surrounded by about 20 cop cars, investigating a shooting at the place.
