The last week of Summer and it's going out in a blaze of glory.... literally. Expect mid-90's all week. The record-setting Summer of '10 will be one to remember, that's for sure. I hope that isn't followed up by the record-setting Winter of '10, that's for sure!
The U.S. Open kicked off yesterday and for the next two weeks, the city will be crawling with tennis players, fans and tourists. I actually saw James Blake's brother just the other day coming out of Jackson Hole. He's the ring-leader of Blake's entourage, better known as "The J-Block", an enthusiastic group of friends who go crazy at all of his matches. A couple of years ago, they spent some time at the bar after Blake's gut-wrenching loss in what I think was the quarter-finals of the Open. They ended up at the bar after the match ("The City's" Whitney Port was one of the guests) and danced the night away. One of the more memorable nights at the bar, that's for sure.
Had our annual Third and Long Fantasy Football Draft last night. I think I did okay with my picks, considering I did absolutely NO research this year. We'll see how well I really did once the season starts. I can't wait!
Starting to get calls for college football already and just realized that the NCAA kicks off this Thursday night! Damn, Summer is really about to end! Oh well, with the season I had, I am thoroughly looking forward to Fall 2010! Bring it!
Last DOLLAR DRAFT MADNESS of the Summer takes place tonight with $1 mugs of Bud/ Bud Light and Dos Equis ALL NIGHT LONG! Make the most of it while you still got it!
