EARL, EARL, WHERE FORTH ART THOU?

Today marks the "big arrival" of Hurricane Earl, the highly touted storm scheduled to hit our shores today. As of now (10:30am), I don't really see any signs of any storm, let alone remnants of a hurricane. I understand, however, the south shore of Long Island is feeling the effects of him as we speak. This hasn't stopped folks from scurrying about in panic mode, gathering provisions as if Armageddon is about to descend upon us. Relax folks. Methinks we'll get some rain, maybe a bit of wind and that will be all she wrote. Then you'll be sitting on enough gallons of water to fill a swimming pool for nothing. F*** Earl.

Last night was a busy night of sports, the first of many as we head into the busy Fall sports season. Between the NY Mets, the multitude of college and NFL football games and a small political fund-raiser, the bar had a nice buzz to it.

I would be remiss not to mention the certain fanatical L.A. Laker fan who once again, could not keep down his cookies, choosing instead to share his dinner and drink intake with the bar..... literally.

Now everyone's gotten sick at a bar at least once in their lives. It goes with the territory. So you get a free pass. Do it twice in the same bar, you MIGHT get a free pass, with the proverbial stink eye that comes along with it. But when it becomes a common occurrence, and your latest escapade involves you doing it ON THE BAR... well, you no longer get the free pass. If this was Foursquare, you'd get the "Blowing Chunks" badge (see photo). Wear it proudly, son. I'm sure Kobe would be proud.

FLYING DOG DOGTOBERFEST on tap! With the Fall season kicking off and the Oktoberfest beers hitting the market, we've decided to go with a newbie (for us): FLYING DOG DOGTOBERFEST! Based out of Maryland, FLYING DOG is world renowned for its nice array of dog-centric brews in their repertoire, with witty names such as Doggie Style, Ragin' Bitch, In-Heat Wheat, Old-Scratch Amber, Road-Dog Porter, Tire-Bite Golden Ale, and Snake-Dog IPA, just to name a few.
