#NYRANGERS PLAYERS STEP UP TO THE PLATE FOR "ROCKAWAY RELIEF"

In the weeks following Hurricane Sandy, there has been an outpouring of support for the victims of the storm, particularly those in Breezy Point & The Rockaways.  These are close-knit communities who didn't hesitate to look out for their own, even when in many cases, they could have used the help themselves.

There's also been a lot of attention and assistance given to the cause by celebrities, both on a national and local level; Either through donations, charity events, concerts, anything to raise awareness of the severity of the storm's aftermath and what the victims of the storm were going though.  And while I've been impressed with the support that has been given by these celebrities, I've been most impressed by members of the NY Rangers, who without any fanfare or hoopla, came to the storm-ravaged locations, helped with the clean up efforts and put together a few fundraising events along the way.

These guys (Brad Richards, Marion Gaborik, Steve Eminger, Ryan Callahan, Carl Hagelin, Dan Girardi) were great, giving their spare time and efforts to help out fellow New Yorkers in any way they could.  From doing grunt work at Breezy Point to guest bartending during a fundraiser at Yellow Hook Grille, these guys gave their all without batting an eye.   Most importantly, they helped to lift the spirits of a community who badly needed cheering up after such a devastating event.  Much appreciated by the residents of Breezy Point and The Rockaways- well done!
