GAME of THRONES, #NHL Style!

The Battle of the Hudson begins TONIGHT when the two combatants, face off for the right to wear the "crown" of the NHL Eastern Conference!  With the history that these two rivals have, dating back to the 1994 Eastern Conference finals, you can be rest assured that there will be no love lost in this series.  Will history be repeated?  The only thing guaranteed in this series is that the Stanley Cup will rest on the Hudson River during the finals.  The question is:  Which side of the Hudson River will get to enjoy watching the Stanley Cup final?

DO or DIE STANLEY CUP GAME 7!

There is a lot of notable sporting events taking place tonight; Inter league matchups featuring the crosstown rivals, NY Yankees and Mets among others for example. Tops on the list, however is the pivotal Game 7 of the Stanley Cup, featuring the Detroit Red Wings and the Pittsburgh Penguins.

The Red Wings, defending Stanley Cup champions, jumped out to a 2-0 lead before the Penguins got their act together and clawed their way back into the series. It's been a fierce battle between the experienced Red Wings and their upstart opponents from PA, culminating to tonight's critical game. NOTE: In over 100 years of Stanley Cup playoff action, the series was decided in Game 7 only FOURTEEN times, last being in 2006 (Carolina over Edmonton). Tonight will make fifteen.

We'll carry the big matchup tonight, WITH SOUND, so make sure to arrive early to get a good spot. Between this game and the Yankees/Mets matchup, it should make for a busy night. Let's just hope that Mother Nature cooperates with the program!

PUB TRIVIA TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS

Tonight we conclude a weeks-long tournament of Pub Trivia competition with a one-night "Tournament of Champions", pitting past weekly champions against each other for a top prize of a $50 bar tab and bragging rights of being the best Pub Trivia team at Third and Long! Competition begins at 8pm and teams, bring your "A" game!

NHL PLAYOFF PAIRINGS SET

The regular season ended yesterday and we are now set for the playoffs and the quest for Lord Stanley's Cup. The matchups are as follows:

Montreal at Boston
NY Rangers at Washington
Carolina at New Jersey
Philadelphia at Pittsburgh

Anaheim at San Jose
Columbus at Detroit
St. Louis at Vancouver
Calgary at Chicago

The playoffs begin this Wednesday (4/15) with the NY Rangers kicking it off vs Washington at 7pm; Pittsburgh vs Philadelphia, NJ vs Carolina and Vancouver vs St. Louis also kick off on Wednesday. All other series kick off on Thursday. Of course, Third and Long will once again, be the home of the Stanley Cup playoffs as we carry ALL games, via the NHL Center Ice Package. We will also host various promotions throughout the playoffs to make your viewing experience that much more fun!


CITI FIELD HOME OPENER

After a number of trial runs both NY baseball teams will "officially" open their stadiums to the public this week. The Mets host the San Diego Padres in their home opener tonight at 7pm, while the NY Yankees host the Cleveland Indians in their home opener on Thursday. We'll carry both teams openers (and all their games) live, as well as all other MLB games, thanks to the MLB Extra Innings package!
