Weekend Summary, Pt.2

*on a side note: my moles tell me that one of our regulars was a good samaritan to an old lady in need today. It seems that she wandered into the bar sometime in the afternoon and it was obvious that she wasn't well. He took it upon himself to seek assistance for her and had an ambulance come and give her the help she obviously needed. He displayed the spirit of a true New Yorker. Good for you!

Other hi-lites from the weekend:

As a bartender, you often find yourself being admired by a customer or two during the course of the shift. Who knows why it happens? Maybe it's the alcohol or the allure of standing behind the bar that gives the feeling of being so close,yet just out of reach for someone? I'm not a psycho-analyst, so I can't really say. But it is a perk; a stroke of the ego, that's for sure.

In any case, on Saturday night, our male bartender (B-Boy) was met with an unusual admirer- a rather flamboyant Pan-Asian male to whom I will call To Wong Foo". Foo has a habit of hitting on our male bartenders and on this night it was no different. The funny thing in this case was that B-Boy's family just happened to be at the bar when the pursuit was taking place. Imagine the horror on the eyes of B-Boy's mom when Too Wong Foo introduced himself to her and indicated that she didn't have a thing to worry about-that he was in good hands w/ Foo. Talk about a record scratcher!

While B-Boy's mom initially wouldn't leave the bar until Foo was gone, B-Boy eventually convinced her that he would be alright. Then right before Foo left the bar, he pushed his phone number on B-Boy and our hero took the number....right in front of a couple of nurses (also admirers of his)! They got a real kick out of it and proceeded to bust his chops the rest of the night.
