LONDON'S CALLING...

That's the word out of Singapore as England's crown jewel won the bid to host the 2012 Olympics. Now for those who actually woke up at 5:45am to watch the festivities... boo hoo. Faithful readers would have picked up on the fact that I predicted that our fair city wouldn't get the nod. (I actually predicted that Paris would get it, but at least I was half right) The fact of the matter is, I just don't think this was our time. The climate wasn't right for NYC to host for a number of reasons; the political climate wasn't in our favor; we looked ill-prepared w/the whole West Side Stadium fiasco; and there are more pressing needs that should take priority right now... There will be other Olympics in the future and when NYC gets its own backyard in order, their time will come.

Sorry for the tardiness of this post; I was in the middle of a computer baseball draft. (I still have time for life's little pleasures after all) Yesterday was back to normal after a long holiday weekend, or so I thought. It turned out to be yet another quiet day; it felt like a Saturday. There was no traffic all day; the foot traffic was minimal. Even Dollar Draft Madness was mellow. My guess is that folks took the extra day off to recover from the long weekend.

In any case, things are definately back to normal now; car horns honking like crazy, bike messengers arguing with cabbies; the day-to-day routine is back! (ugh)
As I sit here catching up on paperwork and updating the blog, I find myself nursing a very sore foot (courtesy of a dropped keg... again). I could definately use a little TLC (one of the downfalls of being single I guess- no one to depend on). With all of that on my plate, I can't help but to be excited. H.B.E. and myself are currently working on some things to juice things up at the bar and pretty soon you'll see the fruits of our efforts. I can't wait!

MASTER THESPIAN will be manning the stick tonite with $3.00 HEINEKEN/AMSTEL LIGHT drafts all night long. If you have an IPOD, bring it in and if you sweet talk the THESPIAN (which isn't hard to do at all), maybe he'll let you share some tunes w/the bar!

On that note.....

NO

They used to have a jukebox back in the day, but the owners filled it with a lot of crap!!

the jukebox was widely considered to be the best in the neighborhood...but alas, customers always seemed to find the duds in the selection ans continually play them. If you are a regular customer, and want to hear specific types of music, or particular artists, make a request with the managers and they will gladly add them to the ipod mix.
