COCKTAIL...REDUX

It was shades of TOM CRUISE and BRYAN BROWN from the movie COCKTAIL when two of our own regulars, MR. TANQUERAY and THE MAYOR (aka BIG MONEY GRIP) jumped behind the bar for a guest appearance. Now i'll admit, I was a bit skeptical; these guys had been talking about making a guest appearance for about a year and whenever I'd press them on it, then the excuses would come out ("um, I can't...I have to bake a cake"); So when they finally agreed to do it, I was curious to see if they really had the cojones to back it up and go through with it.

At the beginning of the shift, BIG MONEY GRIP looked like a fish out of water as he tried to get his bearings together and figure out where everything was. But by the time the bar filled up, he had it all together and looked like a natural, slingin' drinks, snapping his fingers and barking out requests like he'd been there for years. As for MR. TANQUERAY.... I could have sworn his face was beaming like a kid on Christmas Day. The perfect pints he poured showed me and everyone else that this man still had it. He was a former bartender in his last life and he was a bit concerned that he wouldn't be up to snuff...that he'd been out of the game too long. But after a few words of reassurance from the coach (aka yours truly), MR. T. stepped behind the stick and it was like.... magic.

These guys(along with MASTER THESPIAN), had the place filled to the gills with customers, admirers, stalkers, groupies...you name it, they were there. All in all, they produced a very successful evening. My hat goes off to the crew on a job well done!

Tonite is the THURSDAY NIGHT HAPPY HOUR, and that means $4 Coronas/Michelob Light/Sangria and Margaritas all night long! There will also be a BLUE MOON PALE ALE special tasting tonight from 7pm-9pm. There will be $3 pints of BLUE MOON and you get to meet the BLUE MOON MODELS, equipped with prize giveaways! Hope to see you there! Hasta la pasta!
