TALK ABOUT A REBOUND!

In my previous post I wrote about how unusually slow the bar was. Well, last night made up for it and then some. We got hit with a very strong happy hour and the momentum carried over through the rest of the night. We were definately on our toes, especially working without a barback. I have to give my props to my girls, TEACHER'S PET and BLONDE CHATTERBOX; they more than held their own, keeping up with drink orders and pitching in with the barback duties. I was really impressed because they did it without a lot of fuss- very impressive indeed!

There were a lot of groups hanging out during the course of the evening and everyone seemed to have a good time. There was a bit of a problem early in the evening when a couple of drunken older guys somehow got into the bar behind my back (I may have been attending to something else at the time). They took exception to the fact that TEACHER'S PET refused to serve them, so when they tried to plead their case to me, I backed up the TEACHER and cut them off and sent them on their way. It was over and done with rather quickly- but that was the height of the hassles for the evening (aside from the large crowd of party animals having a good time).

Overall, it was a good rebound night for the bar. A LONG night, but a good one. Once again, kudos to the girls for a job well done.
