Last night was the swan song for one of our favorite bartenders, MR. BAGPIPES. A longtime loyal employee of Third and Long, MR. BAGPIPES has always been a favorite of the customers. Great smile and personality, he is one of the friendliest guys you'll ever meet. Many people stopped by to wish him well and to have that symbolic "last drink" with him. A hoppin' good time was definitely the order of the night as there was plenty of dancing, sing-a-longs and hugs to go around. He will be missed and will always have a place here at Third and Long.

The bar also hosted a MOLSON CANADIAN promotion, touting MOLSON CANADIAN and MOLSON TRIPLE X (7.3% alc), and that was a hit as well. There were plenty of people feeling "no pain", no doubt with the help of the "triple x"! A large contingent of people were celebrating the birthday of one of the DUKE UNIVERSITY BOYS (our next door neighbor), and they were definitely getting their fill of the "triple xxx", that's for sure.

Then there were the two lovely ladies from London, England; there are here to celebrate New Year's Eve and has made Third and Long their "temporary home". They have been here every night this week and apparently love the place. Not shy by any stretch, they've made their mark in a very short time and as a result, everyone loves them! There's a few days left before the ball drops so I'm sure you'll run into them at some point. If you see them, don't forget to say "hello!"...

Speaking of New Year's, we are still taking reservations for the New Year's Eve Bash. If you haven't set plans for that night, spend it with us! Call the bar for more details: (212).447.5711.
HAPPY HOUR TONIGHT: We are incorporating a new special for Thursday nights: LITE NITE THURSDAYS. $4.00 all LIGHT BEERS (draft and bottles)! Stop by and check it out!
*Once again, I want to thank everyone who's been supportive to MATT LONG and theLONG family, whether it be through donating blood, sending cards and flowers, stopping by the hospital, etc. It's much appreciated, more than you know. As of right now, MATT remains in critical condition, but everyone remains upbeat and hopeful for his recovery. And your support and prayers help a lot. Thanks again!
