MARCH MADNESS IS INDEED HERE....

The loud cheers, throngs of people wearing various colors of their favorite schools and even an occasion face painted with a mascot of some type gives the obvious indication that MARCH MADNESS has reared its ugly head once again. Say what you will about other sporting events such as the Super Bowl, the World Series, or the Stanley Cup; Nothing, and I mean N-O-T-H-I-N-G compares to the intensity and chaos of MARCH MADNESS. 65 teams competing for one title over a very short span of about two weeks; There's nothing like it. You have the powerhouse teams, those expected to make some noise at the end, and then the upstart underdogs that you love to root for. The schools who will hopefully write their own chapter in the history books. Mix all of that intrigue and you get what is easily the most exciting time of the year, bar none.

With that being said, the bar has been extra busy over the last few nights. There are a lot of people in town for the Big East Tournament, from New Hampshire to West Virginia, to South Bend, Indiana, to Louiville, KY; this is the hot ticket of the weekend. And for many of those individuals, Third and Long was a prime destination for them. Thus far, it's been a blast. No problems, no headaches, just a bunch of folks having fun. That's the way it should be. Here are a few photos of the last couple of days.

BTW, I made a pleasant discovery the other night. We were scheduled to have a promotion for the new HEINEKEN LIGHT beer. As I was closing up on Friday, I decided to have a beer and tried it. I have to say, while I am not really a big promoter of brands, the HEINEKEN LIGHT really impressed me. It has the taste of Heineken, without that "bite" that Heineken is known for; it also goes down very easy. I found myself polishing off two in a very short time (and if you know anything about me, I am not a huge beer drinker). So I suggest you try one next time you're here. See if you will agree with me.

Don't forget that today is "Chill-Out" Sunday, where you can kick back and chill out over $3 Domestic Drafts or $5 Cosmos, Appletinis or Fuzzy Martinis. Bring a board game, your NY Times Puzzle or Su Doku, or catch some NASCAR action with the crew. In any case, here's your chance to unwind before going back to work on Sunday.

They are sisters; they hang at the bar from time to time. Nice girls.
