RANDOM OBSERVATIONS

*Yesterday was Opening Day for the NEW YORK METS. After a thrilling victory over the PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES, many of the Met fans ended up at the bar, celebrating over dollar drafts. Here's what struck me as odd: The Met fans at the bar, while celebrating like good Met fans should, were down-to-earth, respectful and affable. Unlike the NEW YORK YANKEE fans who stopped by for dollar drafts a week before after their home opener. They were, on the other hand, loud, obnoxious and pretty rude and crude.

Now I'm just making observations here, but....... you do the math. It has been pointed out to me that not all Yankee fans are loud, obnoxious, rude and crude and you're absolutely right. However, i'm just highlighting the two Opening Day crowds that came into the bar, and I'm just sharing what I observed....

*Talk about having something come back to bite you in the ass. In today's NY DAILY NEWS, the cover story talks about a pretty hot blonde law student who decided, as a last "fling" before graduating, to pose nude for a Playboy TV series. Now because of her "last fling", her career as a lawyer may go bust before it even begins. Are you kidding me???

I guess the question that begs to be asked is: Should a person's past affect her ability to do the job now? If she is more than capable of being a good lawyer, then should it matter that she chose to have a "blonde" moment and flaunt her bits in the past? Have you ever done something in the past that could come back to haunt you now? To read the full article, click HERE

*Speaking of names making news, the past few days we've been hearing about DON IMUS and the remarks he made on his radio show about the Rutgers Women's Basketball Team. If you haven't heard about it, in a nutshell, on his radio show, Imus and his sidekick were talking about the Rutgers team and how they lost to Tennessee in the Women's National Championship game. During the conversation, he referred to the Rutgers Women's team as "nappy headed ho's". And that created a huge firestorm amongst the African-American community as well as women's sports advocates and the WNBA among others. Now anyone who knows anything about DON IMUS and his radio program knows that his show has a long history of making crude remarks like that and shouldn't be that surprised that something like that was said. I think what is surprising is that finally, he's being called on the carpet for his actions and perhaps is getting a wake up call for it.

Now should he be fired for his comments? Perhaps. I can think of other instances where someone lost their job for making insensitive comments (JIMMY "the Greek" SNYDER immediately comes to mind); Will he lose his job? Only time will tell. As of now, he's been suspended for two weeks, beginning next Monday (which in interesting in itself). He brings in a lot of revenue for both CBS radio and MSNBC, so I am sure that will play a big part in all this. Stay tuned.

*There's a list floating around of female celebrities that are deemed "Unlucky in Love" (boo hoo). For some reason, they simply can't find love in all the right places. The list includes the following:

10) Cameron Diaz
9) Kirstie Alley
8) Carrie Underwood
7) Mariah Carey
6) Lauren Conrad
5) Tyra Banks
4) Hillary Duff
3) Paula Abdul
2) Jennifer Aniston
1) Sheryl Crow

What's the common denominator? Well the obvious ones would be that the majority of the list are blonde. Hmmm. The majority of the list has some connection to MTV. The dreaded MTV curse. Hmmmm... At least half of the list are bona-fide Drama Queens. Hmmmm...

This would be a good topic for a thesis paper.

*Can my beloved CLEVELAND INDIANS catch a break? Not only can't they play baseball due to 4 straight snowed-out days; For their next set of "home games (vs LA Angels), they are being banished to MILWAUKEE, WI of all places. It's bad enough that you can't play your official home opener at home; you have to get sent to a place where they filmed MAJOR LEAGUE. It was a slap in the face back then when they tried to pass off MILWAUKEE as CLEVELAND, and now it's DEJA VU all over again. WTF?

*Just found out that the RICKY GERVAIS show at Madison Square Garden is sold out already. Brotha can't catch a break.

*And finally, The AMAZING RACE is still the best reality show on TV. Bar none.

UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE this afternoon (2:30pm): Manchester United/AS Roma; Chelsea vs Valencia (5pm).

DOLLAR DRAFT MADNESS CONTINUES TONIGHT ($1.00 Bud/Bud Light Mugs ALL NIGHT LONG).

Just because Cleveland doesn't have the cash to build a domed stadium doesn't mean you have to rip Milwaukee. You know what? I'm going to pay $10 to go to the game. And I'm going to take pictures, lots of pictures, and email them all to you. Especially pictures of the scoreboard when the Indians are losing.

Actually, my ill-informed dildo rider, money wasn't the issue. When Jacobs Field was being proposed, it was originally slated to be a stadium with a retractable roof; but the fans in Cleveland would have none of it. A REAL fan brave the elements, not hide under a leaky roof. So that idea was shot down.

Now the fact that the games are being moved to Milwaukee (or anywhere else, for that matter) is being met with a huge thumbs down by the locals; They feel the same way I do, let em play it out in the elements! Man up for chrissakes!

Funny thing is, even with the "bargain $10 tickets" that you guys are getting, you still won't be able to fill that place. That's cause you Milwaukee fans wouldn't know good baseball if it hit you in the face.

Milwaukee sucks, I will agree to that. However people who don't live in Milwaukee can't rip on it. It's like a skinny girl ripping on fat people, just isn't done. However a fat girl can pick on fat people all she wants.

So Swandaddy I say to you, not another bad word from your swanny lips about Milwaukee unless it is something nice or the girls will never come out and play again--lol.

"Best seats" available with four hours till game time are along the first base side at the end of the outfield. Might not fill the place but there will be plenty of people in the upper deck.

Shhh on the "d" thing, still too painful to think about.
