THE QUEST FOR LORD STANLEY'S CUP BEGINS TONIGHT

The "real" season for hockey begins tonight with the opening rounds of the NHL playoffs, better known as the Road to the Holy Grail- the Stanley Cup. Out of the "Big Four" major sports leagues (Baseball, Football, Basketball and Hockey), it is generally regarded as the toughest road to a championship. 16 teams begin and after four grueling best-of-seven series rounds, one team is left standing with the prestigious Stanley Cup in their possession.

The Stanley Cup trophy enjoys a long and storied history and it's a marvel to behold. I personally have had the opportunity to hold the trophy on a number of occasions, including seeing it at the Hockey Hall of Fame, and I have to say that everytime I see it, let alone touch it, I get goosebumps; It's indeed a beautiful piece of hardware.

This year's playoffs is intriguing in that it will be the first time in quite awhile that all three local teams are appearing (RANGERS, ISLANDERS and DEVILS), so that should make it that more interesting. And we will carry all of the games at the bar for all of you hockey fanatics.

Here's to a great playoffs!

UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE action continues today with BAYERN MUNICH vs A.C. MILAN (2:30pm), and LIVERPOOL FC vs PSV EINDHOVEN (5pm)

And don't forget, GIRLS NIGHT OUT is back! With $2.00 Mixed Well Drinks (for the ladies) and $4.00 Amstel Light, Coors Light and Blue Moon Ale (for everyone)
