3 DOWN, 1 TO GO....The NY Rangers imposed their will on the hapless Atlanta Thrashers last night at MSG to take a commanding 3-0 1st round series lead in the quest for Lord Stanley's Cup. Fan favorite Sean Avery (pictured right) injected some passion into the team by throwing Atlanta's top players off of their game, and Michael Nylander had a career game by scoring a playoff hat-trick as the Blueshirts cruised to a 7-0 victory. With a win tonight, the Rangers will clinch a spot to the next round of the playoffs and meet either the Pittsburgh Penguins or my favorite team, the Ottawa Senators. Of course, we'll have the game on for you tonight, as well as the Islanders/Sabres game; both beginning at 7pm.
I thought I was going to last night's game, however, due to a scheduling snafu on my part, it turns out that the game I had in mind was for tonight. Grrrrrrr. Oh well. I have confidence that the Blueshirts will win out and if the planets align themselves just right, I will be sitting at MSG watching the Rangers face off against my Senators. Now that would be a treat!
I also hear that my favorite Canadian spark plug, ANIA PEACH stopped by to see me last night; unfortunately I wasn't available to see her, though I hear practically every guy in the bar didn't mind having her presence there. I owe you lunch, my dear. I'm sure I'll see her before she makes her way back north.
Don't forget, today is Wednesday, which means that it's GIRLS NIGHT OUT ($2.00 Mixed Well Drinks for the ladies, $4.00 Amstel Light, Coors Light and Blue Moon Ale for everyone).
Linda Church (Ch.11) says that we are finally getting some great weather this weekend. More updates to come.
nuff said.
