GIRLS NIGHT OUT- A NEW PERSPECTIVE

This has been a week of new perspectives. As I ease myself into the expanded manager role (due to the departure of H.B.E. to M.J. ARMSTRONG'S), I find myself taking on new nights. And with new nights, come different groups of people, people that in some cases, I'm not that familiar with.

For example, Wednesday night is "Girls Night Out" at Third and Long, a night of drink specials geared towards the ladies of the neighborhood. In the past I had Wednesdays off, occasionally stopping in to say hello but never really hanging out. So last night was the first real Wednesday I spent there working in quite awhile. And with that, I made it a point to do some observing. I wanted to really get a sense of who came in on Wednesdays (who were regulars, who were passersby, etc.). And I have to say, it's a different vibe overall than what I'm used to.

Now I don't know if last night was any indication of what normally happens on Wednesday nights, but I have to say, I was kinda impressed. Nothing crazy going on, mind you, but it was a pretty laid back vibe. Tables filled with groups of women, mixed groups or couples, all into their own thing. Music at a comfortable level where you could actually hear yourself talk without having to shout. And best of all, chicks. Lots of 'em. Overall, a lot of potential. I think I can do something with this.
