Yours truly with TOM LONG, great friend and college buddy and owner of THE DRIFT INN in the Hamptons. As a matter of fact, I gave him his tour at our school. Recollect myself telling him "Don't come here!". He went anyway. I bring him up because quite frankly if it wasn't for him, I would have never been involved in Third and Long in the first place.

We were housemates in the Hamptons back in '91. I worked out at the Neptunes Beach Club (back before it became a nuthouse) and he worked at the Sand Bar (I think). Anyhoo, one weekend MATT and JIM LONG came out to visit us and we hit it off right away. They offered me a gig at a new bar they were opening up at the time in Manhattan called LONGSHOTS (East 20th and 2nd Avenue). I went along for the ride and that eventually brought me to THIRD and LONG and the rest, as they say, is history....

So next time you find yourself in the Hamptons and hanging out at THE DRIFT INN. Tap TOMMY LONG on the shoulders and thank him. For it's because of him that you guys got stuck with seeing my beautiful face all of these years....
