THIRD and LONG UPDATE

MANY OF THE FAITHFUL PATRONS have inquired about the status of the bar. Questions ranging from "What's going on?" to "Are you really closing?" to "What's going in next?" have been bandied about over the course of the last week or so. While I haven't had much information to report regarding our status, here is what I do know (as of now):

We made a final offer that may possibly give the bar a one-year extension, with the hope that we are able to negotiate a longer-term lease during that time. Whether or not that offer is accepted remains to be seen. I can honestly say that the boys have been more than diligent in trying to negotiate a new lease. Now all we can do is wait and hope for an agreement. When that answer will come, I honestly don't know. As the saying goes, "Hope Springs Eternal...."

In the meantime, we continue to forge ahead with closing plans and celebrations. As of now, we have the following special dates in place:

6/21 (Thursday): Staff/Patron Reunion Party, pt. I (for all former staff and patrons from the past and present). First opportunity for staff/patrons from the last 16 years to get together and reminicse over good times past. Great drink specials ALL NIGHT LONG.

6/23 (Saturday): Staff/Patron Reunion Party, pt. II (same as above, for those who can't make the first party on Thursday! -Same rules apply).

6/24 (Sunday): Sunday Brew Crew Bon Voyage (2pm-6pm): For all former/present Sunday Football regulars, this is your chance to re-connect one last time and look back on Sunday "Fun-Day" past. "Gentlemen's Up"!

EMPLOYEES' NIGHT (7pm): We invite all bar employees in the area to stop in for a cold one and to swap stories and to thank you for supporting one another over the past few years!

6/25-26 (Mon/Tues): Old School DOLLAR DRAFT MADNESS! Going back to what DOLLAR DRAFT MADNESS used to be, 16 years ago: $1.00 mugs, ALL BEERS ON TAP!

6/27 (Wednesday): CLOSING TIME. Our last night. The public is welcome to join us as we pour our last draft for the Murray Hill public.

As I stated before, unless something happens in the very near future, this is how Third and Long will end its 16 year run.

"Hope Springs Eternal".....
