THE CUP RUNNETH OVER....

Last night, the ANAHEIM DUCKS scored a convincing 6-2 victory over my OTTAWA SENATORS, and in the process, wrapped up the Stanley Cup, 4 games to 1.

While I (not so) secretly hoped that OTTAWA would win the series, I knew that ANAHEIM would be difficult to beat. With a stellar defense, beginning at goal and working its way out to the defensive lines, they would be very hard to score on. Add to that a very underrated offense with a lot of young weapons... well, you saw the result.

So as much as it pains me to see my team lose, I have to give credit where credit is due. ANAHEIM was the better team in the series and truly deserve to hoist the cup. Congrats to the DUCKS of ANAHEIM; you did yourselves and your city proud.

NEXT UP: SPURS vs CAVS beginning tonight at 9pm.

Last night we had a mini-reunion of the Sunday Brew Crew as various members showed up for cocktails and comedy, with the hopes of meeting up with one of our former members, GOLDIE, who's in town on business. Unfortunately, he couldn't make the festivities due to work commitments, but it didn't stop the Gentlemen's from flowing for the boys. Some of the "plonkers" (and I use that term with love) who stopped by included MR. LOW-KEY, AFRIKA BAMBATTA, T-BILL, SILENT BOB, DIRTY SANCHEZ, NAPOLEON, SMURFETTE, ANGRY BLACK, and BABY GIRL.

There were also more and more people from the neighborhood stopping by to inquire about the impending closing of the bar. Many of them were sad to hear the news, others were quite angry about what's taking place. In any case, the news about our closing seems to be stirring up emotions across the board.

One of the interesting sights of the evening...

There are these brazen kids who go from door to door, selling candy for like outrageous prices; They travel in packs of maybe five to ten, and the ages run from 4 or 5 to about 13. While they go from door to door, they are followed closely by this big guy (in the white shirt with red stripe); I don't know if he's their dad, or if he's the Candy Pimp. Not sure, but they are truly a pain in the arse.

The sign that stirs the emotions...

SUNDAY BREW CREW holding court in the corner....

A couple of neighborhood merchants stopping by to lend their support...

Former employee MATTY B. stopped by to say "Hi!"

ADSENSE GIRL doing her thing behind the stick...

A couple of lovely well-wishers

I've also been getting a lot of inquiries about the "limited edition" Third and Long T-Shirts. They will go for $15.00 (plus shipping, money orders only) and sized at L and XL. Email me if you are interested in obtaining one. Like I said before, quantities are LIMITED, so act quickly.

THURSDAY: "Lite Nite Thursdays" ($4.00, all LIGHT BEERS, bottles and drafts, 4pm-10pm). THE ITALIAN STALLION is back behind the stick tonight after a long hiatus! Stop by to say hi- I'm sure he'd love to see everyone!
