PRE-INDEPENDENCE DAY FUN, BIG BLACK STYLE....

Yesterday was Dollar Draft Madness Tuesday, which on its own is a typically busy night. Add to the mix was the fact that it was the day before the 4th of July and the party level went up even higher as many people got out of work earlier than normal and began partying earlier than normal.

I have to admit, I wasn't quite sure what to expect with the holiday falling mid-week, as I'd mentioned in an earlier post. I got the reality check when I arrived at the bar at around 6:30 to see the place teeming with young professionals, mugs in hand, having a good time. THE SPIN DOCTOR was spinning his wheels in full gear behind the bar, slinging mugs to thirsty demanding customers, while FIRE MARSHALL ED was holding down the front door, keeping order. The evening shift had just arrived to take over and even OPIE CUNNINGHAM was kept busy from the moment he arrived.

I hung out for a bit and ran into some familiar faces from the past (which is always nice); I then had to go to the SwanDen to handle some "administrative bar duties", while FIRE MARSHALL ED took care of things in the bar. Throughout the night, I couldn't help but to hear folks yelling, screaming, laughing; simply having a good time. The following photos are from BIG BLACK's point-of-view. As you will probably notice, he's a fun-loving guy and the patrons love him- truly a big teddy bear.

Looks like a good time was had by all, especially BIG BLACK!

TODAY: Bar opens at 4pm today, with $2.50 PBR cans (5 for $10.00), and $3.00 Mixed Well Drinks (for all ladies)! Fireworks begin at 9pm (weather permitting). Should be another fun night!
