IT'S A BEAUTIFUL DAY (TAKE 2).....

Today is shaping up to be a much better day than the soakfest we experienced yesterday. Was it just me or did the rain just sap all of the life out of you? If this is what it's like to live in places like SEATTLE, WA. or LONDON, ENGLAND, then I can totally see how someone would want to jump out of a window. Dark, wet, dank.... ugh. What a shitty day. At least today should make up for it as HEIDI JONES tells me that we should have 80+ degrees and plenty of sun. Keep up the good work, HEIDI.


RANDOM OBSERVATIONS

I've found myself becoming obsessed with BIG BROTHER 8. Every year I trash this show yet I keep going back to it. I even have the live feeds on my desktop as I monitor the hamsters as they are sequestered in their makeshift compound on CBS' studio lot.

This is a running real-life soap opera of folks living together without any access to music, TV, radio, Internet, newspapers, etc.; just with each other. Each week they go through your typical set of competitions and eventually vote out one house member per week. This goes on all summer until there's only one person left standing. It's not the most exciting thing on TV, but it's interesting nevertheless. This year they even have uncut feeds airing nightly on Showtime Too (Ch.222 on Time-Warner) from Midnight-3am. The question that's begging to be asked: Does this officially place me in the "pathetic" category? Even if there's some pretty hot T & A from time to time?

SPEAKING OF PATHETIC....

LINDSEY LOHAN. What are we going to do with this young lady? What started out as a promising young actress with endless potential has turned into a train wreck. When you thought you saw it all with the recent antics of BRITNEY SPEARS, PARIS HILTON and NICOLE RICHIE, you would think that some folks would pick up a cue and steer away from other people's mistakes. But NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO..... not LINDSEY. After what appeared to be a successful stint in rehab, our redheaded step-child found herself in the public police blotter yet again last night as she was pulled over and arrested for driving under the influence and felony drug possession. Are you kidding me? This is after completing a high-profile stint in the infamous PROMISES REHABILITATION CLINIC, the rehab spot for the rich and infamous.

With all of the celebs dropping oodles and oodles of cash at this high profile dry tank ($40-50,000 a pop), you'd think that someone would actually get helped, no? This place is like a revolving door for wacked out celebs. The only ones getting anything out of their services it seems are the paparazzi and the clinic itself.

As for poor LINDSEY, what is it going to take to save this girl? Will she actually get jail time for a change? Maybe a little time behind bars (not the Paris Hilton kind, mind you) will give doll baby a wake-up call? It's a shame. Such a beautiful and talented girl, flushing her life away, one arrest at a time. Look at her mugshot. There's a girl, crying out for help. Maybe this will be the wake-up call she needs. SUMMER STRETCH RUN

As we approach the dog days of August, I can't help but to begin the countdown to FOOTBALL SEASON and the return of FANTASY FOOTBALL SUNDAYS with the Sunday Brew Crew. It's training camp for the teams and I guess that means that it's training camp for me too. Last summer, the gang got on my case for not being in tip-top "Brew Crew Shape" behind the bar (thanks to the World Cup); Well this time I'll be ready for the masses and look forward to another season of fun with my favorite regulars. In the meantime, I have some cool events coming up for the month of August, so stay tuned in the next few days to see what I have lined up for everyone.
