BARRY HITS A MILESTONE

FINALLY!

Well, it's over. Last night, BARRY BONDS of the SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS finally broke baseball's most treasured record, the home run record held by HANK AARON for 33 years (755 HR's). Obviously because of the cloud of controversy lingering over the head of BONDS due to the suspected use of steroids, there are a lot of mixed opinions over whether or not his new record should be valid. Personally, while I don't have a lot of love for the man (he's an a**hole, actually), the fact that he was able to achieve this feat over the duration of his career has to be acknowledged. If HANK AARON can be gracious about passing the torch to him, then who am I to get pissy about it? I think if he was more of a people person and not such a pompous a**, he'd get better treatment about the whole thing. But that's neither here nor there. The fact is that we now have a new record and it is now held by BARRY BONDS.

I forgot to mention that on my way home from the RUSH HOUR 3 screening, I tried to stop in the bar to see what was up; however I COULD NOT GET INTO THE DOOR! The place was packed! A literal sweatbox of young professionals going apeshite over dollar mugs. Are you kidding me? So I was forced to hold court outside with MOOCH the doorman and THE SPIN DOCTOR, who'd just finished the day shift. I did notice, however, that there were a bevy of hotties going in and out the bar, dressed in bright colors and those baggy mini-dresses that seem to be popular this week.

On top of that, we had a Blackberry Promo that seemed to go over well. They will be in every Tuesday for the month of August to demonstrate their new line of Blackberrys and rumor has it they will also raffle one off at the end of the month. Goody goody.
