THUMBS UP: Flight of the Conchords. This series on HBO continues to shine as one of its best, yet underrated hits. Tonight's episode was particularly funny as it highlighted the band's inept manager, Murray in a rather hilarious episode. There's only three episodes left so if you haven't had the chance to check out these guys, I strongly advise that you do so. You can catch all the episodes on HBO on Demand.
THUMBS DOWN: Entourage. While "Flight" continues to get better each week, "Entourage", on the other hand, is starting to vex me. For every good episode that airs, you get a clunker, such as tonight's episode. At this point in the season, I'm not quite sure where they are going with the show. The cameos are nice and all, but the storylines are becoming repetitive and even ARI, the gem of the show, is starting to wear on me. They also have three episodes left and hopefully they will tie the show together nicely or else........ I'm just saying.
THUMBS UP: "Rush Hour 3". At the beginning of the summer, I was skeptical about the prospects of this film, mostly due to the huge time gap (6 years) between Rush Hour 2 and 3. Then after checking out an advance screening last week, I got the sense that it would do well and my predictions were true as it raked in about $50 million in its opening weekend. Not too shabby for an aging Asian martial arts star and a loud, wisecracking, wannabe Eddie Murphy.
THUMBS UP: Weeds. Just checked out the Season 3 premiere of Weeds (airing to the public on Monday) and I have to say, I was happy with what I saw. If you haven't seen Seasons 1 or 2 of this highly entertaining series on Showtime, I recommend that you take that time and do so. It's quirky, funny and smart with a great cast of characters. And at less than 30 minutes a clip, it's an easy watch.
