OH WHAT A BEAUTIFUL MORNING
I found myself up earlier than normal for a Saturday morning, considering that I'd only gone to bed just a couple of hours before. THE DON asked me to meet someone to pass along tickets to a game so I had to make sure to be up to meet them. As I sat in the bar waiting for the guy to show up, I couldn't help but to notice a few things:
1) There's nothing like seeing NYC women walk around the neighborhood on a Saturday morning. They are in a relaxed, casual state and most of them look pretty damn good, too. I know that the neighborhood is always in a constant state of flux, but I never realized how many good looking women live in Murray Hill. The neighborhood (as a whole) doesn't get its just due, I tell ya.
2) Following along the same good-looking women vein, it's always amusing to me to see many of the same women doing the "Walk of Shame" home, clad in the same hot outfits that I seen them wearing the night before. While about 90% of these women don't realize that I notice, the fact is that I see it quite often. I never bring it up with them (okay, maybe i'll joke about it with them once in a while if I know them pretty well), but these eyes of mine.... let's just say they see a lot of things.
Last night was one of those weird nights where the full moon was in full effect, bringing out the weirdos in full-force. The night started out innocently enough; We recently brought on board a new microbrew beer, GOOSE ISLAND HONKERS ALE. It's gotten a good buzz thus far from the patrons, both for the taste and for the unusual-looking goose tap handle. In any case, it's been a good product for us so far.
Last night I met the V.P. of Sales for Goose Island Beer Company (which is based out of Chicago, by the way). He happened to be passing through NYC on business and when he heard that we were carrying their beer, decided to stop in to check us out. He was also meeting his son there (who happens to live in NYC). He introduced himself to me and we ended up having a pretty good conversation. A very nice man. I think we'll be doing business with Goose Island for a while.
As the night went on, the clientele began to change. More weirdos began to pop in; guys with multiple tattoos from head to toe, large groups of patrons from specific states (like Texas and Virginia); a small group from Vancouver, Canada (of which one woman somehow got herself bitten by a dog she was trying to pet). Tons of disgruntled Met fans who were ready to pounce on anyone who wore Phillies' gear. Metalheads, emo groupies, fratboys... A strange night indeed.
I wonder what tonight will bring?
