NEW YORK GIANTS- SUPER BOWL CHAMPS! WHO'D A THUNK IT?

Last night's Super Bowl matchup between the NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS and the NY GIANTS turned out to be one for the ages. Going into the game, the Patriots were undefeated and highly-favored and pretty much expected to have their way with the eager Giants, who'd won their way to the Super Bowl on the road (no home games) and were more or less, playing with house money.

The game was scheduled to kick off at around 6:20pm, however there were people at the bar as early as 12 noon (THE MAYOR, MR. LOW-KEY, MR. CHIPS just to name a few), ready to stake their spots at the bar. The boys even helped to decorate the bar with streamers and such, just to get the place in a festive mood.

As the afternoon wore on and we got closer to game time, the usual suspects (SUNDAY BREW CREW) began turning up and settling in for what was sure to be a L-O-N-G afternoon of football.

As we got closer to game time, the bar began to fill up and everyone was pretty eager for the game to finally begin. T-BILL got things going by calling out bets on various "exotic" side action, like the length of the National Anthem (I kid you not), which was pretty hilarious. He placed the over/under on how long the singer would take to finish the song at one minute, 42 seconds. Half of the bar got involved in the bet and when JORDIN SPARKS began singing the anthem, the bar crowd were understandably into it (I took the over, by the way).

When the singer got to the end of the song, the bar was going nuts; especially when she drew out the last few notes.... just enough for those who took the over to win. Funny stuff.

Then everyone settled in for the game. The first three quarters were a bit of a drag, but it at least gave patrons an opportunity to party.

The bar was decidedly pro-Giants, however, there were a few Patriots fans who braved the crowd and stood strong in support for their team....

By the fourth quarter, however, the game got very interesting and the crowd really got into it. The Patriots had just taken the lead with very little time left in the game. Then the hometown Giants, led by young quarterback ELI MANNING led the team on an improbable drive which ultimately led to the winning touchdown, with only seconds remaining. As you can imagine, the place went NUTS!

Led by our resident "SuperFan" MR. CHIPS, the bar went crazy as Giants fans celebrated the upset victory, while at the same time, the few Patriots fans that were there, had to grin and bear it as pandemonium took place around them.

Oh, and it gets better.

So I'm scrolling through your post and notice that Mr. Chips has a blue NY Giants jersey on. I'm like, where's the red shirt I see him in every other time? And then, at the end, the jersey comes off and the red shirt is underneath. I shoulda figured.
