THE BUBBLE BURSTS.....

Today was the big day for college basketball fans all over the country as the bids for the upcoming NCAA Men's Tournament were revealed. By about 6:45pm people were either celebrating over the fact that their favorite team got into "The Big Dance", or grumbling at the fact that their team got "robbed" or "slighted". I, for one am one of those individuals who feel slighted.

As a fan of "America's Team" (better known as Ohio State), I was holding out hope that my team would make a return appearance to the "Big Dance". I must admit, this was going to be a tall order, considering that they lost the core nucleus of their National Championship Title Game team to the NBA draft. That being said, I was still hoping upon hope that would still get in, considering their schedule, the conference they play in (the Big Ten), and a host of other reasons.

However, NCAA politics apparently disagreed with me and as a result, the "bubble" burst for Ohio State and there will be no "March Madness" for the Buckeyes this year. Ironically enough, the team they lost to in the National Championship game last year (Florida), got bumped out as well. Go figure.

Weekend has been a total blur so far. I am realizing right away that I have to get mentally ready for the next 24 hours where 3rd Avenue becomes a sea of green; green make-up, green beer, green clothes, lots of surly drunken behavior, etc. Yay. If what I dealt with on Saturday is any indication of what I will be up against on Monday, then I suggest that you stay on my good side. Or else you might be standing in line for a long, long time.

PICS from Friday:

We finally got our windows painted in time for St. Pat's Weekend....

Friday Night Empire State Building shot.

Tourists from Ireland, enjoying a pint (or six)....

So, it's time to pack it in. I'm looking forward to a long, fun day tomorrow. Bar's open at 10 am SHARP!!! TIP OF THE DAY: Treat St. Patrick's Day like a marathon race. Pace yourselves and pretend that you're the tortoise and not the hare. At the end of the day, you'll have fun and probably remember it too.

Nuff Said
