WHERE'S THE JUSTICE?

Last night we hosted our weekly HOCKEY NIGHT in NEW YORK soiree, the Playoff edition. On tap were a couple of marquee match-ups: NY Rangers vs NJ Devils, and the Pittsburgh Penguins facing the Ottawa Senators. One match-up involved bragging rights to the NY area as well as playoff positioning, while the other match-up had the possibility of a sweep.

The bar also had a promo, featuring the raffle of a GORDIE HOWE Autographed Jersey. So the turnout was pretty fair, considering the combination of the NHL playoffs, the Yankees vs Red Sox game (which, by the way, took about 10 hours to complete), and the prospects of winning an autographed jersey from a Hockey Hall of Fame legend.

Both games turned out to be very competitive, and everyone seemed to be riveted to them. If you were a fan of the Rangers or the Penguins, then you went home pretty happy. However, if you were one of the few Ottawa Senators fans left standing after the game, you were left feeling lost and depressed. You were leaving the bar knowing that your team, the same team that started the season 15-2, tanked the rest of the way- and as a result, was ceremoniously dumped. Did you ever think you would be standing here like myself, muttering "WTF just happened???".

The worst part of it all? After the hockey games, we go to raffle off the jersey. Guess who wins?

HORNY GOATWEED.

I shit you not. This guy walks in with about two minutes left in the game buys a single beer and ends up winning the jersey.

Where's the justice?

On another note, I ran into my friend who seems to be making all of the newspapers these days. She was just as surprised as we were about all of the attention that the David Hasselhoff story had gotten. She also shared some interesting follow-up tidbits about the Baywatch Stud that was pretty enlightening and funny as hell. But out of respect for her privacy, I'll keep that under wraps.

Nuff Said.

Dammit swandad i think your raffle running skills are lacking ... remember the football pool that Mr. Chips won and then Napoleon pulled out the next three tickets that each had my name on it??? looks like the swift hand of justice could use some practice -SS

Perhaps you're right. But I think you should worry less about my "not-so-swift" hand of justice and worry more about your Devils, who are about to join my Sens on the golf course!
