DRAMA OF THE DAY..... SUPER COPS TO THE RESCUE!

It's Tuesday afternoon and I've just finished up a slew of meetings with FIRE MARSHALL ED and some vendors. During the course of the afternoon there's this skinny African-American female sitting at the bar by herself. She orders a beer and starts up a tab. An hour goes by, then another, and she's still sitting at the bar. From time to time she goes to the bathroom, and returns to her seat. All while we're sitting through meetings and then lunch.

About three hours later, FIRE MARSHALL and I were working on some paperwork when the young lady all of a sudden, gets up from her seat, grab her bag and began walking out of the bar. OPIE CUNNINGHAM realizes that the young lady didn't pay for her tab and runs after her. He and FIRE MARSHALL ED catch the girl at the corner, as she tried to cross the street. They drag the girl back into the bar and begin lacing into her for trying to beat her tab. Talk about looking like Super Cops!!

The girl tries to come up with all of these different scenarios for why she didn't pay for her tab: She thought someone else was paying for it; then she said she was waiting on a friend; then she tried to say she was in the industry (bartender, then waitress) ; nevertheless, FIRE MARSHALL ED and OPIE weren't buying it so they detained her and took her ID away and told her she could retrieve it when she paid her tab. She didn't want to leave without it so we were left with a stalemate........
