GOODBYE TO 2008!

We've finally come to the end of a long, topsy-turvy and certainly memorable year. Throughout the past twelve months we've seen the comings and goings of the rich and famous, both young and old; We watched in horror as our economy took a record nosedive, right into a recession. We witnessed history as our country finally took the bold step in electing our first African-American President, after a hard-fought election. The sports world took notice as the New York Giants won the Super Bowl over what was supposed to be the "perfect team". We also witnessed the end of an era as both Yankee Stadium and Shea Stadium closed its doors forever, just to name a few of the more memorable moments of the year. There were quite a few notable moments on a grand scale that we'll always look back on when we think of 2008.

On a much smaller yet just as important scale, the bar has seen an influx of new regulars, while at the same time, bidding a fond "adieu" to those who moved on to bigger and better things in life. We received a five year extension and gave ourselves a facelift. We watched with pride as one of our owners battled back from a tragic, near-death accident to run and complete the New York Marathon. And thanks to our patrons and friends, Third and Long was voted as "AOL's 2008 Best Sports Bar in New York City" (still can't quite get over that one).

And even with all of that, the best thing about 2008 was the simple day-to-day interactions with YOU, our favorite patrons that made 2008 a memorable one. We thank you for your continued support and will always run our business with you in mind.

So take a moment to think about what 2008 meant to you and think of nothing but good thoughts and well wishes for a happy, safe and prosperous 2009!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

TONIGHT: Bar is closed for a Private Event. It will open again to the public at 2am.
