IS THE NOOSE GETTING TIGHTER???

Last night the NY Rangers gave away a game they needed to win, losing to the Carolina Hurricanes, 4-2. As we roll into the final week of the regular NHL season, the Blueshirts are currently sitting in the 8th and final playoff spot, with four games left to play. They are one point behind Montreal, who has one extra game left to play; and they are two points ahead of 9th place Florida, who also have an extra game in hand. As you can see, the Blueshirts are walking a fine line between playoffs and playing golf, so there is no room for error. A lot can happen in the span of a week.

As for the NJ Devils, while they are secure in making the playoffs, they haven't been playing the best hockey the last week or so. And heading into the tough grind of the Stanley Cup playoffs, the last thing you want your team to do is to limp into the first round in a slump. Hopefully they will right the ship in time for the playoffs or else they could face early elimination. Regular season ends NEXT Sunday; NHL PLAYOFFS begin April 15th and of course, we'll have the action of EVERY game leading up to the Stanley Cup, thanks to our NHL Center Ice package.

BIG DAY FOR NY BASEBALL FANS

Tonight both local teams officially open their brand new parks to the public, hosting exhibition games before the real season starts next week. The NY Yankees will host the Chicago Cubs, while the NY Mets will host the Boston Red Sox (rain permitting). Both stadiums have been getting rave reviews (which isn't saying much since both old stadiums were shitholes), and everyone seems to be anxious to be there when they open their doors. I had an opportunity to go to the Mets game tonight but since it's supposed to rain, I chose to work instead. I got all summer to check out both stadiums. What's the rush, right?
