BILLY-BURG AFFAIR?

Dollar Draft Madness had a distinct Williamsburg flavor last night as the majority of the crowd that were there had that hipster vibe to them. Yes, that meant cheezy "Swingers" fedoras, skinny jeans (both men and women), trendy talk and indie hits cranking out of the jukebox. A definite shift from the Stepford Wives/Frat Boy "big-money wannabes" who normally frequent the joint on a Tuesday night. Not quite sure what the occasion was but for all of the grief the Billy-Burg types get in the media, this group was actually pretty cool. They were pretty laid back and were simply chilling out with each other and weren't being loud, obnoxious and annoying, which is what we typically get.

Today is Wednesday, a.k.a. "Hump Day", halfway home to the weekend. We have a lot of things coming up this weekend so I have to get to work on making the magic happen. Some of the things we have to prepare for include:

FRIDAY: "Halfway to St. Patrick's Day Bash". With GUINNESS completing their 250th Anniversary celebration, we figured it was a good a time as any to throw another party! Of course, we'll be serving up pints of the 250th Anniversary Stout (available for the last time), throw in $5 Jamo shots and have some live music to boot! Can you think of a better way of kicking off the weekend (ok maybe having some intimate relations with Gisele Bundchen, but I'm just sayin')?

SATURDAY: UFC 103 takes center stage as Rich Franklin faces off against Viktor Belfort in the Main Event of a full card, shown here on PPV. I continued to be amazed at the turnout we get for the UFC events. Perhaps it's the fact that we don't charge a cover or the fact that there's a huge underground fan base for these sort of things. Nevertheless, it works for us.

SUNDAY: "Brew Crew Sundays". Last Sunday was opening week for the NFL and the Brew Crew and it was an overwhelming success. We had a huge turnout, thanks in part to the NYC Dolfans Football Club (Miami Dolphins fans) and the zany regulars who make up the Sunday Brew Crew. Featured games for this Sunday include the highly-anticipated matchup between the NY JETS vs NEW ENGLAND (1pm), and the NY GIANTS vs DALLAS (8:30pm). We'll carry many of the other matchups on that day via NFL Sunday Ticket so make sure to swing by! (Miami plays next Monday night).

So as you can see, there's a lot of prep work ahead for me so while I try and kick this cold, I got a lot on my plate. On that note, I'm off like Suzy's prom dress! More to come....

DON'T FORGET ABOUT PUB TRIVIA/BEER BINGO TONIGHT @ 7pm!

Nuff Said
