OPIE'S BACK IN TOWN

As I mentioned in a previous post, OPIE CUNNINGHAM has made it back from the land "Down Under" in one piece and has made his way back to the Third and Long family. He looks well and hasn't lost any of his snarky wit and charm that he's known for. It was appropriate that he got back on board during Pub Trivia night, as he was one of the original hosts of the now-popular weekly event.

The night itself started out slowly; as a matter of fact, we were wondering if we were going through the typical holiday hangover that comes with the three-day-weekend. Eventually things kicked into high gear and the bar was teeming with folks playing along with the trivia master and having a good time.

WINNIE COOPER stopped by with her boyfriend for a post-birthday dinner cocktail and she ended up getting the staff to do FIREBALL shots (Fireball, for those of you out of the loop, is cinnamon flavored whiskey... good stuff). Not what I needed but when the birthday girl pleads with you, you eventually give in.

One amusing moment: A girl came up to the bar and ordered a round of "Lindsey Lohan" shots. SCUBA STEVE, who was tending bar at the time, gives the young lady a confused look. "Lindsey Lohan shots?" he asked. The girl looks at him and says: "Yes! A Red-Headed Slut with a splash of Coke!" she replied. Now I know I may not be up on the latest trendy drinks, but I had to admit, that was pretty funny.

Of course, our night wouldn't be complete without some cheapskate tourists driving the bartenders insane.

Hipsters from Spain seem to be attracted to our bar lately. Not sure what that's all about but they love us. If they would only show their appreciation!

After a tedious start, it turned out to be a good night after all!

TONIGHT: NLCS kicks off with Game 1, featuring Philadelphia vs Los Angeles (8pm). It's also "Thirsty Thursdays" with $4 Sam Adams/Coors Light drafts and Miller Lite/Coors Light buckets (5/$20), 5-11pm!

*8 days 'til Montreal!

That's It. That's All I Got.
