SAY IT AIN'T SO....

That what NY Jet fans were saying to themselves last night as they watched in disbelief the meltdown their hometown team had in Miami last night. The Jets/Dolphins rivalry gained a new chapter last night as both teams played their hearts out in front of a packed Land Shark Stadium and a capacity-filled, pro-Miami crowd here at the bar. The NY Jets were on the verge of eking out a hard-fought victory when the Dolphins stunned them by scoring the game-winning touchdown with :06 seconds left on the clock, sending Jet fans home stunned and Miami fans into a frenzy.

Say what you will about who won the game but you have admit, it was a pretty fun game to watch!

In other sports news, the defending baseball champions, Philadelphia Phillies, survived a snow blitz and the Colorado Rockies to advance to the NLCL where they will face off against the Los Angeles Dodgers. We're now down to the "Final Four" of Major League Baseball and here is my prediction for the World Series:

ALL CALIFORNIA FINAL: L.A. Dodgers vs Anaheim Angels. Just a gut-feeling. Would love to see the Yankees back in it (great for business) but I think the Angels mystique will continue to haunt the pinstripes, while Philly's closer situation will be their downfall.

Agree? Disagree? What say you?

NHL Scoops: The NY Rangers kicked ass and took names last night against hapless Toronto, 7-2; That, coupled with their 3-0 shut out of Anaheim the day before has me thinking maybe the Blueshirts have something here. They have a lot of new faces and more importantly, YOUNG faces and they are getting the important experience needed to compete in this very tough division. If they can keep injuries to a minimum... hmmm. NJ Devils on the other hand, I think it may be time to start thinking about life after Brodeur. Haven't looked impressive thus far. NY Islanders will be a rebuilding project this year but with the #1 pick John Tavares looking more and more like the real deal thus far and the other baby-faced talent on that roster, at least they will be fun to watch this year.

By the way, at this posting I am currently involved in FOUR NHL fantasy leagues, THREE NFL fantasy leagues, TWO NASCAR fantasy leagues and a recently-completed BASS Fishing league. You think I need help?

DON'T FORGET about PUB TRIVIA/BEER BINGO tomorrow as it makes it's return to the Wednesday night rotation after a one-week hiatus. THIS WEEK'S THEME: "Bosses". Chew on that.

DOLLA DOLLA DRAFT NIGHT tonight with $1 mugs of Bud/Bud Light ALL NIGHT LONG!

That's It. That's All I Got.

Did you see Miami have six plays in a row with the quarterback on the sidelines? And they were getting five yards on every play! Unreal.

More specifically, it's an all LA final.

Devils just beat Ovie & Co last nite, we'll be fine this year. but you're right, we need a succession plan for the greatest goalie of all time. DubS
