Weekend Recap

The weekend turned out to be one filled with odd happenings and characters, due no doubt to the long, holiday weekend. We were inundated with tourists, from in and outside the USA and they brought with them their various quirks and curiosities. It help make what would have been a boring weekend to an interesting one.

The big news around here is that the NY YANKEES completed the sweep over the Minnesota Twins and now move on to the American League Championship Series, where they (and we) were hoping to face their arch-rivals, the BOSTON RED SOX. However, the boys over at RED SOX NATION didn't hold up their end of the bargain, as they were swept themselves, by the ANAHEIM ANGELS. Now the Bronx Bombers will retool and prepare for what will be a very difficult series against the Angels this weekend. Now Yankee fans don't get too cocky yet; recent history doesn't side with you when it comes to Anaheim as the Angels have OWNED the Yankees in head-to-head play. This isn't going to be easy.

As for football, the NY GIANTS looked simply dominant against the hapless Oakland Raiders, much to the delight of the BREW CREW patrons yesterday. It was pathetic. With that being said, all focus turned to partying and having a good time, which is what the BREW CREW is known for and they didn't disappoint. Later in the afternoon the focus of the day turned to BABY GIRL's birthday party as she celebrated another good year. The party lasted well into the night and between that and folks celebrating Columbus Day and the impending day off and we were there until about 3am. A very long day for me, that's for sure.

THIS WEEK: Big doings tonight as the MIAMI DOLPHINS host the NY JETS (8pm); I'm pretty sure the NYC DOLFANS FAN CLUB will arrive in full force and with $1 mugs (Coors Light/Bud Light/Bud) being offered, it will be a busy night.

PUB TRIVIA returns this week with a bang! Fun kicks off at 7pm with Beer Bingo, followed by the main event trivia competition at 8pm! As always, it's free to play and plenty at stake to win!
