MOVEMBER FUNDRAISER= A SUCCESS!

Last night, a fundraiser for the MOVEMBER Foundation was held at the bar; Nothing big, mind you, just a get together for friends of our team, THE MO-VAUGHN'S to raise funds and awareness of Men's Health Issues, particularly Prostate/Testicular Cancer. The gathering also provided a great opportunity for networking and catching up on old times. I personally ran into folks who used to live in the neighborhood and were patrons of the bar way back in the day. While that was great in and of itself, it also made me realize how long I've been at this gig. In any case, the get-together was a great success and I want to thank everyone on
behalf of the MO-VAUGHN's for coming out and supporting us. It was a great time and all for a great cause.

On a personal note, my tally has now grown to $420.00 (thanks to everyone who donated on my behalf); Our team total has now grown to a whopping $7,731.00! If you are interested in helping me meet my goal of $500, simply make a tax-deductible donation HERE. Every bit helps!

Here is my updated moustache (as of 11/18/09):

Now if you notice, there is a ridiculous looking black dot in each of those photos. It is yet another sign that my camera is dying a slow and painful death (just like my laptop). As a result, I will have to get a new one, like fairly soon.

After the fund-raiser, we got down to business with PUB TRIVIA. The beginning of TRIVIA was a bit hectic because the fund-raiser was winding down, but eventually it settled into a nice groove and we ended up with a three-team chug-off, which has never happened before. What is a chug-off, you ask? At the end of Trivia, if there is a tie for 1st, 2nd or 3rd place, the teams that are tied send a rep from their team to compete in a "chug-off" to break the tie. In this case, since there was a three-team tie for 1st place, three reps faced off for a chug to crown the champion. Whoever came in first place in the chug-off claimed first place for their team; second place in the chug-off claimed the silver medal and the third place chugger, well you know what they got.

Before you ask me why there aren't any pictures of said chug-off, simply look at my moustache pictures and you get the drift.

Overall, it was one of the better Wednesday nights in quite awhile. NO TRIVIA next Wednesday night as it is the night before Thanksgiving and no doubt most of you will be journeying home to god-knows-where. Trivia will return in two weeks!

TONIGHT: The bar should be awash in blue (or is it teal) and orange as the MIAMI DOLPHINS (and their DOLFANS supporters) face off against the CAROLINA PANTHERS in a Week 11 matchup. This game is being televised on the NFL NETWORK and unfortunately for you New Yorkers, unless you have Direct TV, you'll have to catch the game at your local pub. It is unavailable on Time Warner. There will also be an appearance by the Coors Light Girls, armed with great drink specials and plenty of giveaways throughout the game! Game begins at 8pm but get there early as the DOLFANS tend to roll deep!

$4 Coors Light/Sam Adams draft & $20 Coors Light/Miller Light buckets (5-11pm)!

That's It. That's All I Got!
